Hello tumblr’s I am running the Belfast Marathon in May in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK.

I know many of you don’t know who I am but im sure that you will know at least 1 person who has been affected by this silent killer form of cancer.

I am running the 26.2 miles for my Grandad and for all the pancreatice sufferers.

It is sad the amount of blogs that are based on anorexia and being skinny (and these illnesses are shone in a good light).

More than anywhere on the Internet, on this blogging site, you can find more images of thin people that are said to be more beautiful than a larger person- when in fact these people are ill.

I wish people could take a look at themselves and think “I am lucky to have legs and a healthy body” rather than “why can’t my legs be skinnier” - I wish I could do it but we live in a society where the richer, skinnier, more beautiful, most successful, most intelligent and most sociable people are regarded highly.

It’s easy for anyone to say and I am fully aware of the dreadful feelings and emotional distress people go through coping with eating disorders but promoting it on an image based blogging site is upsetting.

Hopefully when people look at these images they will realise that it is better to be healthy than have a waist size of a 5 year old child.

I hope that no one takes offence to what I have to say, I just wish people would stop promoting an illness as if it were a brand of clothes.
